Saturday Trend: Valances??

As long as I can remember, I've HATED valances. But suddenly, I cannot stop staring. And I'm finding myself wanting to use them on projects! What's going on. Are they coming back?

This is my newest project on the horizon... a master bedroom redesign. (I'm SO excited about that god-given symmetry!!!) I'm dying to put up some valances to give those walls some ummph... what do you think?
